We have been using the new materials during whole-group lessons, small-group instruction, and independent math centers to practice counting, number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, comparing quantities, and building a stronger understanding of how numbers work.\r\n\r\nMy students were so excited when they first saw the new resources! They immediately wanted to touch, explore, count, sort, and create with everything. One of my favorite moments has been watching students use the hands-on materials to build and represent numbers while explaining their thinking to classmates. Students who may have been hesitant to participate in traditional math activities have become much more eager to engage when they can physically move objects, test their ideas, and learn through play.\r\n\r\nAs we continue building our number sense skills, students will use these resources to strengthen addition and subtraction concepts, compare numbers, recognize patterns, and explain different ways to represent quantities. Our next steps are to continue incorporating the materials into math centers and small groups so students can practice these skills at their own level while becoming more independent and confident mathematicians. Thank you for helping create joyful, hands-on learning experiences for my students. Your support truly makes a difference in our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1780059353149,"projectUrl":"project/number-sense-through-hands-on-math-play/10298200/","projectTitle":"Number Sense Through Hands-On Math Play","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Adams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7909178_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1657734576896","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7909178"},{"teacherId":9612562,"projectId":10088553,"letterContent":"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your incredible generosity. Your support has made a meaningful difference in my classroom, and most importantly, in the daily learning experiences of my students. Because of your generosity, my students have been able to participate in more interactive lessons, hands on activities, collaborative projects, and engaging learning experiences. Instead of simply receiving information, my students have been able to interact with what they are learning and demonstrate their understanding in creative ways. These opportunities have encouraged my students to become more confident in sharing their ideas, asking questions, working with their classmates, and explaining their thinking. One of the greatest impacts I have seen is increased student engagement and participation. \r\n\r\nThe class set of highlighters, scissors, snacks, and headphones has been helpful. Students used highlighters to identify important information, annotate texts, find evidence, and organize their thinking during ELA and Social Studies activities. The scissors, and other hands-on materials allowed my students to create multimodal projects, manipulate information, and demonstrate their learning in ways that go beyond pencil and paper assignments. Because of you every student has the opportunity to participate, create, practice, and contribute in my classroom. This has helped me create a classroom environment where students feel prepared and excited to learn! Thank you for believing in my students and investing in their future.
