I teach kindergarten in a Title I school near downtown Atlanta. The school is old and a little run-down, but functional. Most of my students do not attend Pre-K, so kindergarten is their first experience with school. I work very hard to provide educational and meaningful games and activities that encourage my students to think independently and learn through play. The majority of my students are Hispanic and are learning to speak English when they start kindergarten. They are so excited about learning and having new experiences! Donors Choose has helped me provide many hands-on learning activities and games that help build the students' language skills and vocabulary. My goal is to help my students grow academically as much as possible during their time with me and to send them on to first grade with a solid foundation in phonics, reading, writing, and mathematics, and a love of learning!
