Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach Kindergarten to 25 of the greatest students you will ever meet. We are a dual language classroom and my kids enjoy learning both English and Spanish. This is our first year of implementation and the students and I are enjoying the process.
My students are very hardworking and love to learn.
Our school is predominantly Latino and the families are very supportive. 100% of our school receives free breakfast and lunch daily. Due to budget cutbacks it is often difficult to get the materials we need.
My Project
I am asking for Spanish Language books for my Dual Language Kindergarten classroom because my students love listening to stories. These books will enable for my Spanish language students to hear stories in their native language and enable my English speaking students to practice their listening skills. Currently we do not have very many books in Spanish.
Reading to a child helps them acquire a love of literature!
I hope to provide my students the ability to hear many stories and be able to appreciate other cultures. The books will be used in our listening center during small group instruction.
