Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My darling students are kindergarten age kids (age 4-6) from lower income neighborhoods. They are from very sweet families that support my mission to help kids enjoy learning and stay in school!

Half of my students speak another language at home.

Art media is one way the children love to express themselves. In addition, the kids love to illustrate their writing. I have an all day kindergarten program, so occupying such young children for 7 hours can be a challenge.

My Project

I love doing art projects with my kindergarten kids, but they use up the supplies so quickly!

Additionally, with these supplies, the kids can do language art activities where they make books and illustrate them.

I also added a beanbag to my shopping cart because I only have four and I have five kids in there at a time!

The last fun item I added is a plant growing set. We grow plants at the end of the year, and this will make it easier for me to do with the students, and easier for the kids to replant once they take it home.
