Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am beyond excited to prepare for my new kindergarten classroom this upcoming school year. I will have my own room and would like to be as prepared as possible with materials and supplies for my new students. My students come to school with little or no exposure to art supplies. I know my future students will enjoy being able to paint and engage with other forms of art including building, drawing, and creating with different materials.
My goal is to have the necessary supplies for my students to be able to paint, create, and build to express themselves with art.
I plan to use the art supplies (brushes, aprons, palettes) when we do whole class and small group art. Students will also be able to use them independently during free choice. I plan to use the popsicles sticks with velcro dots, chenille stems, and kinetic sand to allow students to build what they imagine. We will also be using the popsicle sticks and ribbon to create picture frames.
