My Students

I teach technology to grades Kindergarten thru third grade in a Title I school in Brooklyn, New York. Many of my students are from families that fall below the poverty line. I have students of varying levels, special needs, and languages all in the technology lab at the same time.

Many of my students do not have access to technology at home so when they come to the technology lab, they are excited and eager to learn and get to work.

My students are bright, cheerful, loving , excited, and and eager to learn.

My Project

My students love coding and Botley the Coding Robot Activity Set will enable them to explore and build on their coding skills.

Having Botley the Coding Robot will help my students build many of skills that they will need to be successful in the future; they will also be able to apply the skills learned from using Botley to their other academic classes.

Not only will they be working on coding skills, they will also be improving their problem solving skills. They will use Botley in small groups which will help them learn how to work together, how to express their ideas and thoughts. I have many special needs students as well as English Language Learners in my classes who benefit from hands-on activities.
