Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Learning can be fun! It's not always about paper and pencil or standardized testing or sitting on computers. Learning can be done through playing games. Many of my students know how to play video games, but many do not know how to play cards or board games. I want to provide my students with fun ways to learn along with building social skills.

Playing board games like Sorry, Connect Four and card games is a fun way for students to get quality, screen-free time with friends while building communication, critical thinking, and social skills.

Board games build communication skills, get students thinking strategically, and develop vocabulary and good communication. These games can help all students. Board games teach students how to follow instructions and rules. Board games help students learn good sportsmanship. They create healthy competition. Board games help students understand how others think and in turn they become critical thinkers. I would like to give my students an opportunity to strengthen these skills and enjoy learning at the same time.
