My students need a variety of options to choose from. Chapter books and non-fiction texts do not always spark a love of reading for every child. I hope to add a little diversity to the collection with these graphic novels.

Our library has made some great improvements in aesthetics and change of environment. I would like to make some sorely needed updates to the diversity of our offerings. We do not have a
large comic collection at this time, but we would love to offer more options to our students!
Our campus is Title I and battles the effects of being from a low socioeconomic status with great teachers, rewarding opportunities, and a welcoming environment.
Graphic novels and comics make reading easier for students who are English Language Learners or students who are struggling to improve in their reading. Books with strong visuals and popular characters are great incentives for a reader who has difficulty engaging in reading. Our graphic novels collection is growing slowly but comic book collections are very expensive. With your support, our students would be able to experience a new way to fall in love with reading!
This is my first year at this school and I am looking to make some changes! The school's library collection holds only 33 books in the graphic novel section. This is is nowhere near enough to share with 600 children and you can imagine the subjects are limited. With this project, we will be able to grow our collection a bit further and continue to enrich their imagination. The wonderful thing about graphic novels and comics is that it has great variety and endless options for readers to fall in love with. We just need your help getting more of it at my school.
