Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Third, fourth, and fifth graders love coming to the library to learn about new books, do research, and check out books to take back to their classrooms. There's a wide range of reading levels and a variety of tastes, so I like to offer as diverse a selection of books as possible.
At the Rebecca Johnson School, we put a lot of emphasis on summer reading.
I'll be working with the public library to make sure families get library card registrations, and I'll talk about the importance (and fun) of continuing to read over the summer.
I would love to follow up on this conversation by offering them the chance to choose a book to take home and start that summer reading!
