My Project

This year kicks off year number eleven in the classroom! Every year, I like to stockpile items (notebooks, pencils, markers, paper, pocket folders and snacks) that my students may need throughout the year, and even the random items that they need periodically (bandaids, ponytails, safety pins, etc.) to take care of one basic need quickly, so it's not on their minds.

Providing for my students, in my opinion, is more than just an educational need; there is also a physiological need there as well.

I also want to get back to the joy of teaching and celebrating my students. The last couple of years have worn me down, and I want to bring joy back--even if it's in the smallest way of providing a little birthday treat to my students when it is their birthday.

This year is also a year of ORGANIZATION & LESS TECHNOLOGY! Getting back to the basics of reading and writing to help students find value in low stimulation activities. We have a new curriculum at my school, so it's a perfect time to start something anew!
