Help me give my students sports equipment for their recess time to let them participates in team sports, stay healthy and let them learn how to play together, exercise and problem solve while learning good sportsmanship.
My students have faced numerous challenges on their road to academic success. Not only have they been faced with losing their school building by a fire due to Hurricane Irma last year, but they have also lost all of their personal belongings and supplies housed at school. Our school had to move to a new location and this year our entire school was able to all be together in portables on the campus of another school. The students in my class are resilient and continue to overcome obstacles due to our space and other challenges. Resilience has been our world this past year-and my students have worked hard despite so many challenges. I’m proud of each of them as they overcome so many obstacles in such a difficult situation with many changes, they continuing to do their best to learn even though their life has been turned upside down. That’s who my kids are, a resilient bunch of learners wanting to be prepared for life!
My Project
Last year our school burned down due to hurricane Irma and our students lost all of their recess equipment. We have a field but it would be great for students to have equipment to explore and play during their recess time. This exercise gear will promote students to get out on the field, play kickball, soccer, basket ball and have fun while getting healthy-and just have fun being children. Students have a lot of energy and if they do not have the ability to run and play, they will not be at their optimal learning capacity without a healthy amount of play. These balls will impact not only my two class blocks that participate in recess together, but also others that will be able to utilize this equipment in the field at our school. Having this equipment would help the boys and girls at our school to optimize their recess fun and promote healthy bodies.
