High quality headphones would benefit the students in my class greatly by allowing them the opportunity to complete individualized lessons using technology. Individualizing lessons is a great way for students to not only engage in literacy in a fun way, but has proven to have a positive impact in student learning gains and allows them the use of technology, that they may not otherwise have the opportunity to use. These headphones would support students in my class to be able to practice not only reading and language skills, but math too. With the integration of technology in our school, and the shift for intermediate testing to be done on computers, these headphones will be instrumental in supporting student literacy and supporting their individual needs. High quality headphones can be costly, but without them, learning is greatly hindered. The cheap headphones students can afford can not withstand the frequency in which they are used and will often stop working in one ear which then affects student performance on their task. These headphones would make such a positive difference in our classroom.
