This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 7th grade students in central Phoenix. Our urban school is a Title I school and EVERYONE is receives free breakfast and lunch. I strive to teach students real life skills, how to be organized, critical thinkers, and help them visualize their future.

I want my students to be college AND career ready!

I want to dispel the myth about "those" students, and prove that ALL kids are capable of learning if given the correct tools, guidance, and motivation.

My Project

I want my students to learn how to become organized and responsible citizens. Too many times I hear, "I forgot!" or "I didn't know that what due!" With our planners, not only will they be learning how to become organized, but now I can hold students ACCOUNTABLE.

Research shows that students who use daily planners are more successful, likely to be involved with extra-curricular activities, and go on to college.

With student planners I will be able to teach organization, planning, accountability & responsibility. The planner I chose is in English & Spanish...I choose this style because most of our families are Spanish speaking. I want parents to be able to understand the "why" behind the planners, but also to support their students.
