My Students

Seeing and understanding what makes the world work is important to a child's education and future.

My 7th and 8th grade students are from a low socio-economic urban neighborhood and come from a variety of racial and ethnic backgrounds.

All of my students have learning disabilities or cognitive delays. They are eager to learn, but struggle due to their disabilities.

My Project

Many of my students live a secluded life. They are unaware of what is going on in the world around them. Last year, when giving the U.S. Constitution test, I discovered, even though I taught it, many of them didn't know who the Vice President of the United States was. By introducing "Time For Kids" into my curriculum, my students will be able to keep up with current events, while practicing reading expository text and comprehension.

Because my students are from low income families, it would be almost impossible to ask them to come up for the money for this subscription.

Please help me to provide this subscription for my students. What my students can learn from "Time For Kids" is endless. It might even inspire the next President or Vice President! Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
