This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are five- to six-year olds who come to school every day with smiles on their faces, eager to learn.

I am a first-year teacher, teaching full-day kindergarten to 23 students. Most of my students are English language learners who come from low-income homes. At our school, one hundred percent of the student population receives free breakfast and lunch. Overall, my students are caring, enjoy hands-on experiences, and enjoy learning new things every day. As their teacher, I enjoy teaching them every single day.

My Project

I want to show my kindergartners that their hard work pays off whether during virtual learning or a traditional class setting.

I want to motivate my kindergartners by providing them with bi-monthly incentives for the students' participation in live Google Meet lessons with me (synchronous), doing their independent assignments (asynchronous), and putting forth maximum effort.

The candies will be passed out to my kindergartner bi-monthly. In my class, I use virtual participation tickets to motivate students to stay on task and remain engaged. Every two weeks, the students that have the most virtual participation tickets will be eligible to earn a candy. Thank you in advance for your support in helping me motivate students to stay more engaged while learning remotely.
