This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The snacks we are requesting here are meant to be a supply of snacks to feed our kids.
Often our kids are tired and lethargic in class because they are not fully nourished.
Many of our students ask us for snacks and we spend our own money restocking our little cabinet to fill it with healthy snacks. The healthier snacks are generally more expensive and with 130 8th graders, we go through them pretty quickly.
We selected these three types of snacks so that students with allergies will be able to eat at least one of them and that they come in bulk packs so we can get the most bang for the buck.
Our students are special because they are honest and aware of their needs and their emotions. I'm so impressed that the students are self-aware enough to tell us that they are having a hard time focusing because they haven't eaten and we always want to be able to help them do the best they can.
