This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Being a middle schooler is hard! Being a middle school girl comes with its own set of challenges. Not only do these girls have to navigate the murky waters of relationships with friends and non-friends, but they have to do it while being pretty new to body changes that come with puberty.

Having feminine products readily available in my classroom provides girls in my hallway a safe space to grab the supplies they need is a less conspicuous way than having to go all the way to the nurse.

My room is right next to the restroom and most of the girls in our building, both 7th and 6th graders, know that I keep my cabinet stocked. I've even had a student whose family couldn't afford these products for her so I was able to send some home with her. This project will help me to continue stocking period products that our girls need.
