My Students
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions. They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are an inspiration!
Our classroom community is fully inclusive and beautifully diverse with many students coming from around the globe.
Each child has different needs, but they all absolutely love to learn. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, activities, and alternative seating to ensure that each student's needs are met and that they are having fun while exploring and learning! Indeed, they are truly an incredible group!
My Project
During this shifting and difficult time, the classroom experience will look quite different. However, it is my job to create a learning environment that is still fun and engaging regardless of what's occurring outside our little community in Boston. Due to the collaborative nature of preschool, my old classroom was set up to create as many prosocial, group experiences as possible where students are often interacting and sharing both ideas and materials. However, with our current guidelines, my old classroom set-up just doesn't make the cut to ensure safety and health.
Having 2 more tables, especially lower ones that are 3-4 year old child friendly, will allow my students to spread out in our classroom and engage in many fun and hands-on learning experiences.
I envision the kids creating beautiful artwork, building magna-tile towers, and exploring play-doh in our new seating areas. The bins will allow each student to have their own personal, storage area for their learning materials: pencils, crayons, markers, glue sticks, scissors, fidget toys, etc. Each bin will be personalized with a photo of my students' family and the special, unique pattern they pick out in the beginning of the school year!
