Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a diverse one filled with passionate students, families, and staff. It is a school-wide Title I school that supports and develops an average of 400 students.
The school is made up of a diverse group of students from different languages and backgrounds.
This diversity makes our school a unique place to learn and work.
Our mission is to pursue knowledge, strive for excellence, and to model an attitude of contribution and gratitude, both individually and as a community.
My Project
Remote learning is a challenge for any group of students. However for kindergarten it is even more challenging. At this age, students are looking for games and activities to keep their attention.
Keeping lessons as engaging and visual is key to keeping a student's attention during any activity.
Whether I am teaching reading, math, writing, science or social studies; it is critical that activities are fun and interactive so that the students will stay engaged and learn. A document camera would allow me to present activities in a fun way, similar to how I would if we were actually in the classroom. The students will be engaged, feel like they are learning like they would at school and have fun learning.
