This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a very special bunch. For many of my students, kindergarten is their first introduction to school. Most of my students come from poverty-stricken households. They are dealing with so much trauma. They are also dealing with pandemic stress. My students are capable of amazing things. They are curious, energetic, joyful five and six years olds. Their creative energy and desire to learn to make my classroom pretty magical. After being remote for an entire year due to the pandemic, I can't wait to be with my students in person, watching their creative minds at work.

My Project

I am thrilled to be teaching in person after teaching Kindergarten remotely for a full year.

Our classroom is in need of supplies to keep our classroom environment safe and clean. The cleaning and safety supplies will help us maintain a safe environment along with our social distancing protocols. The classroom has to have added supplies to keep up with the cleaning protocols. Keeping my classroom environment as clean and safe as possible so that my students remain healthy for in person leaning is really important. That means disinfecting surfaces and materials as much as possible. Any help in the area of cleaning supplies is greatly appreciated. My students often do not have mittens when they come to school. The mittens will be used to keep their hands warm on cold winter days. My Kindergarten rock stars and I appreciate your help.
