Keeping It Flexible

Help me give my students the continuity of flexible seating as their teacher moves and takes her furniture with her. (Wobble chairs, cushions, inflated balance balls, etc.)

My Students

My students are eager. They are eager to learn and apply. I teach at a charter school, so a lot of my kids are from lower income families. It is amazing to be able to provide a classroom full of love and opportunities. They do not take anything for granted. They have so much potential and I love when the light bulbs come on. My students are respectful, intelligent, and creative.

My students love hands-on activities, group work, and projects.

Teaching kids not only academics, but social skills and how to work with others is essential. They love to show off their work. They grow so much confidence in themselves based on praise and feeling accomplished.

Above all else, they are kind. My students are always the first to offer a hand to someone else and it shows in the classroom. In our classroom, we are a family. They are compassionate to one another and are eager to assist each other during work time.

My Project

Flexible seating has helped our students soar! This largely active and eager group has put flexible seating to the test and have come out strong learners because of it. Learning happens every minute. Students are eager to get to work because they are now comfortable and have a choice in their seating. True student engagement is happening, all day long.

Our third grade teacher, who funded her flexible seating classroom through Donorschoose.org is moving and taking her flexible seating with her.

Please help our third graders stay flexible! Help them remain consistent with their eagerness to learn by replacing the furniture she will be taking with her.
