Most of my students are visual learners. They need a new, interactive way to gain knowledge, instead of having me write on chart paper. In their own life, they are reading on computers, and they are constantly on tablets at home. This project supports their daily use of technology.
I have a class of 18 wonderful first graders.
My students are very open minded, and they are passionate about learning. They look forward to the lessons we learn, and they are all slowly turning into history and science buffs. My class loves learning about new concepts, and they are passionate about the world around them. We have a brand new school, which my students absolutely adore. My classroom is set up to have an interactive whiteboard, but we need these materials to fill its full potential.
My Project
I've noticed that my students learn more when they walk around the room, work with others, and interact with different materials. Studies show that children are more academically proficient when they interact with the world around them, instead of a teacher solely telling the students facts.
Having an inexpensive Ipevo Wireless Interactive Whiteboard system will help my classroom keep up with the current times. All students will be able to see and interact witht he system. We already use tablets during daily literacy groups, and my class is always excited to break into the rotations. I hope that this piece of technology will also help further light that spark in fueling my students' love of learning.
This technology will also help my students with their future.
When my students venture out into the workforce, they are not going to be writing on chart paper, and reading paper books about biographies, but they will be using all sorts of technology. I want to foster their future with this piece of equipment.
