This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I have the most amazing fourth graders who try so hard and want to do well. We have had an amazing year and I have seen so much growth. Unfortunately, even though academically my students are growing, as fourth graders, they are not as organized as I would like them to be. Fourth grade is a transitional year between primary grades and middle school. In middle school, students need to transition to multiple classes with multiple teachers. In fourth grade, students need to learn the skills necessary to be middle school students.

By giving my students chair back pockets, I will be able to teach my fourth graders life skills of being neat and organized students that will help them for life.

When my students come to my class, they have so much stuff but no where to put it. Stuff ends up all over the floor and students lose things or Chromebooks break. By giving my students chair back pockets, their folders, workbooks, and Chromebooks, can go into the chair back pockets and everyone will know where their stuff is and no one will get hurt by tripping on stuff. I appreciate all the support I can get to help my students learn what they need.
