This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My name is Ms. Hino, and I am an Adapted Physical Education Teacher. It is my passion to work with individuals with disabilities and provide instruction and opportunities for physical fitness and living a healthy lifestyle. In addition to my teachings, I coordinate our partnership Special Olympics School Games Program for kindergarten to fifth grade students. With the school shutdowns from the pandemic, we are not building back up our sporting events for our students with special needs. In the fall, we have soccer tournaments, and in the spring, is our track and field events. All of which are hosted throughout our School District. With these events during the middle of the day, it can get extremely hot. Having an EZ-up tent will allow shade to escape the heat. In order to ensure student health and safety, the proper amount of shade is crucial to avoid overheating and heat stroke.
