This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is a Title I school in which all of our students receive free lunch and breakfast. My students are full of potential and striving to become successful individuals. They enjoy the flexibility of learning in a small group self-contained environment, with teachers who look after not only academics but their needs as a whole.
They may not learn the same way as other or on the same day, but they are capable of learning using a variety of strategies.
My students are eager to learn, despite their learning difficulties, mobility challenges, and challenges they face at school, at home, and in the community. In our classroom, we encourage each other to do their best and work toward success.
My Project
These materials that we are asking for will make a difference in all of our special education students' lives. Students need to learn the lifelong skill of being able to wash and dry their own clothes.
With the proper materials, our students will be able to learn to wash and dry their own clothes independently.
Once the skill is mastered, we hope that our students will be able to wash and dry their clothes in their home or at a laundry mat. We will teach the step by step process of sorting, washing at the right temperature, adding the right amount of detergent, drying, and then folding of their clothes.
