My students all have special needs; some severe/profound, non-verbal, Autism, ELL, or ADHD. They all come from low socioeconomic homes and environments. All of the students in my classroom receive free breakfast and lunch. Due to the school being in an impoverished area, it is very difficult to get the funding these children need to get specially designed technology in their classroom. In my classroom, I run stations for all the subjects taught. These stations include small group and individualized instruction that is designed to meet each students' needs. We live in a world filled with technology. So why is my class in the Stone Age? We need four iPad mini devices with armor protected cases and charging outlets to improve reading, word recognition during our lessons, and communication. All children deserve every chance to succeed.
