My Project
If you have had a chance to read a bit of our story that we have shared on Donors Choose in our last two projects, then you are already familiar with our struggle to get our outdated and somewhat empty library shelves spruced up for our middle school students. We have come a long way in the last four years, and our circulation has more than doubled! The average age of our books is no longer 1965; our selection is more relevant and more attractive; and our tattered books are slowly being replaced with fresh titles. As mentioned in our last project though, so many books geared to the middle-level reader are written in series. With limited funds, we just cannot keep up with getting the next volume in the set at the same time as we are trying to fill other voids that we have on our shelves.
We do not want to have to choose between letting a reader enjoy the end of a series or helping another reader find a new author or storyline. We have created this “Part II” project in the hopes that we can get more of our unfinished series, finished. We have added books to this project that complete a popular series or that continue one. Help us give our students the end of the story!
