Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The Wildcat Cafe is a classroom-based cafe managed by special education students. Through this hands-on experience, students acquire essential life, job, and financial literacy skills. They learn to navigate technology, handle transactions, and organize operations, preparing them for future employment and independent living in a supportive and practical educational environment.

Our current devices are no longer compatible with the Square platform.

The Samsung Galaxy tablets and stands will play a pivotal role in keeping the Wildcat Cafe running by continuing order management via our Square Site. These tablets are dual-purpose, serving as both the Kitchen Display System and Square POS, streamlining order-taking and management processes.

Staff conveniently place orders through our Square Shop for pick-up or delivery. Many staff members enjoy coming in to place their orders directly with our students, offering them valuable opportunities to interact with customers. In this supportive environment, students are not only honing their customer service skills but also learning the fundamentals of handling money. Through these interactions, they gain confidence in managing transactions while receiving guidance and support, laying the foundation for their future success in the workplace.
