Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Some students were not made to sit still, and I encourage that. My students are in kindergarten and have some special needs. We are located in an urban area. All students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Every day, we start off with our breakfast in the classroom, followed by our morning circle time.

My students love to look at the weather, see who is here, and then talk about their nights. We are building a strong classroom environment one day at a time. My students are hands-on, interested learners with a lot of energy to learn, in all different ways, throughout the day.

My Project

With COVID-19, we are all virtual as most districts are. Instead of interrupting my lessons to see my students, I can quickly glance at the monitor to watch their expressions. Since my students are special needs, they don't all have language and I need to see their facial expressions or watch their body language.

With a second monitor, I will be able to see my students on one screen as I project my lessons with fun, engaging videos or curriculum from my computer.
