My Students
We are a low-income district in San Jose, California. Almost all of my 250 band students, in grades 4-8, are borrowing school instruments, and I am committed to providing them with the supplies they need to continue their music education from home.
My Project
A new school year will be starting soon, and the show will go on in music class. Our students from this year are sheltered in place with their instruments, but still need supplies and accessories. Reeds are an essential part of clarinets: you can't make a sound without this small piece of wood.
Our current, and new, clarinet players will each need 3 reeds to get started playing their instruments at home.
Reeds break easily and need to be replaced every 1-14 days. After a couple of weeks, even with the best of care, they become unusable.
I would love to be able to send each clarinet player 3 reeds to get started with playing their clarinet, and then have a few spares to send again when the first 3 wear out. I truly appreciate your help with this project.
