My Students

My students are a very diverse group of students with limited income and resources. I am truly concerned about their increasing sedentary lifestyle. The Covid pandemic has had a huge impact on not only their academics, but their health as well. Students are less active and haven't had the necessary education for learning what their bodies need and how they can take care of them.

I want to give these students a learning experience that motivates them and integrates real life experiences that they can take with them for years to come.

My Project

I plan to use Fitbits for motivation to move and strengthen math skills!

I want to lend the Fitbits to students on an alternating week by week basis.

I plan to create challenges for students to compete with steps and physical activity, as well as use their data for mathematical analysis.

I want to integrate their data from their Fitbits in a weekly math graph for practice with real world math problems that they can relate to. I plan to use the steps and activity from week to week in multiple graphs that show the relationship between multiple graphs and answering statistical questions.
