My Students

Hi there! I teach an amazing group of kindergarten students who come from diverse and unique ethnic backgrounds from around the city. My students are loving, dedicated and hardworking students who come into my classroom with a smile on their faces and a hunger for learning every day. They are always looking for ways to share their learning and help one another.

Our school is a Title I Chicago Public School located in an urban environment with a tremendous school and amazing neighborhood community.

Our staff, administrators, parents, and community members work together to provide the best education possible to our hard working and dedicated students.

Our amazing school has given out over 300 chromebooks for students to use for remote learning during this pandemic. This mean that now every student in my class has access to all of the online resources I work hard to provide them for. Students log on every day to do work I plan for them.

Even though they are not in class with me they continue work hard and complete assignments, thanks to support I provide and their amazing dedicated parents.

My Project

No pandemic will stop me from helping my students learn the skills they need to be successful. My kiddos were learning how to read, write, and do simple addition and subtraction before school closures. Now my living room is my classroom. Therefore, it is very important that I have the resources to help them grasp the concepts and skills they need to succeed in the next school year.

My amazing students have been working incredibly hard completing the assignments that I have given them using Padlet, Zoom, YouTube and Google Classroom.

However, my learners would benefit greatly from me having a laptop with high quality sound and video capabilities to record video messages, reading passages, and lessons for them.

This project will provide a laptop and printer so that I can use these amazing tools to assist my students with their remote learning experiences.

Once we excitedly return to school, my phenomenal students will benefit immensely by having a laptop in our classroom that is dedicated for audio books, read-aloud assistance, and translation services. All four of our Goethe kindergarten teachers share one printer. Having an extra inkjet printer, housed in my classroom, once we go back to school, will help the Goethe kindergarten team to provide our students with the resources they need.
