My Project

My reading intervention/special education students have been so fortunate to have received amazing donations, through DonorsChoose.org and through the generosity of friends and the incredibly creative teachers on Teachers Pay Teachers. The only thing we don't have is an organized way for students to access everything during class and a way to ensure that our materials last as long as possible.

My students would benefit so much from the independence that organizing their materials will allow and the ability to keep our new things in good working order for future classes to use.

We use many of our materials independently during the day and having the ability to organize and label those materials by the skill they cover, will allow my students to locate the tasks and books that are just right for everything they've learned allowing them to have a choice in which centers and books they will work on without having to worry about choosing something that they don't yet know. It will also allow them to learn about taking care of the materials that help us grow. We also have hundreds of printable decodable books through Teachers Pay Teachers that I would love to turn into more realistic looking books for my students (instead of flimsy, stapled together paper). With a binding machine and heavy cardstock paper, I would be able to give my students something they could read again and again without wasting paper reprinting every time something gets ripped.
