Help me give my students the safest place to learn without fear of spreading the germs! The only way to protect our learners today is simply to clean what they touch. These supplies will do just that.
My students are AMAZING! They come to school every day and try their very best! They help guide each other, look out for one another, and are compassionate towards their peers. I am so fortunate to have students who care about their future and are willing to stay late, arrive early, and apply themselves in every class.
Despite the odds stacked against them, my students try harder than most give them credit for.
They don't expect freebies; they know they will work hard for everything they receive in life. It's this resilience that will ensure all their hard work will pay off and provide for a safe and successful future.
With this request (and help from DonorsChoose, their affiliates, and the on-line community of followers), I hope to provide a more rigorous learning environment that will encourage my students to set appropriate and challenging academic goals as well as allow for creative outlets through research projects.
My Project
Since we came back to school in August, I have been supplying my students with Lysol/Clorox disinfectant wipes. As of this morning, we have gone through 21 canisters, and I have four unopened remaining in storage. I have 6 classes with anywhere between 15-25 students, and each class has a "clean" routine. When they enter, they use hand sanitizer at my classroom door, then the first student for each row of desks takes the wipes from under the first desk of the row, and places one on each desk. Students arrive and wipe their laptops, phones, desks, and any parts of the chair touched.
We have not had any transmissions in my classroom to date, and I want to keep it that way; to keep their learning environment safe and sanitized, means they will be able to learn without worry.
Although I was unable to select wipes from Amazon, this is the next best thing. I think at first I will be the sprayer, and they can wipe....just in case.
