Help me give my students much needed items such as socks, shoes, easy to prepare meals such as macaroni and cheese, soup, and peanut butter. Many are homeless and without access to necessary items.
My elementary is located in a high poverty area of Las Vegas, Nevada. One hundred percent of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. They come from extremely diverse backgrounds, and they struggle with behavior, academics, and many with second language acquisition.
Many of my students experience homelessness and struggle to have items available during the winter months such as shoes, socks free from holes and that fit; food items that are easy to make such as noodles in a cup, macaroni and cheese, tuna, and soup.
My students depend on our school for stability, differentiated learning, and a quality education. Having these items available in the classroom will allow my students to be healthy and make sure that they won't go to bed without having food in their bellies.
My Project
With winter rapidly approaching. Many of my students are homeless and they will not have access to required necessities like socks, shoes free from holes and that fit, and food. I want my students to have every opportunity available to be successful in school. Knowing my students ate dinner the night before and will be wearing warm socks and shoes without holes is important to me.
Donating items like socks and shoes along with nutritional food like soup, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, and snacks will help my students to be prepared and ready to learn.
With these items, students will be able to focus on learning instead of fighting sickness and hunger. I want all of my students to be successful and the best way for my students to be successful is to create an environment that meets their needs
