Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As the years go by, I have noticed the social-emotional needs of my students have increased. Some of the materials I have requested I will use to target the SEL needs of my students. For example the beanbag chair, I plan to place that in "The Chill Spot" in my classroom. "The Chill Spot" is a place where my students can go to chill, regulate their emotions, and get themselves ready to learn again. Currently my "chill spot" is just a desk and chair with a few fidgets. I have also requested some fidgets to use at "The Chill Spot". I have also requested wobble stools. I have a few that I used with my class last year and they made a big difference for the students that used them regularly.

The other materials I have requested are basic necessities to get my classroom up and running for this school year.

The Clorox wipes and tissues will help to stop the spread of germs and prevent my students from being absent as much. Glue sticks, dry erase markers, and pencils are a must-have in a 3rd grade classroom and the better the quality the longer they will last throughout the school year. Astrobright paper will make work more fun, colorful, and engaging.
