My Students

At our school, we believe that every student can and will achieve. Our goal is to help students gain the skills necessary to be college and career ready. This past year and a half has been challenging for our students as the coronavirus has greatly impacted our students academic learning and social and emotional growth.

A focus for our school is to improve our social and emotional learning during this year.

This last year we have created a 'wellness room' for our students to go when they are overwhelmed, unable to focus on school, and just need a safe place to recharge and return to their learning. Due to the impact of the coronavirus, we are seeing more and more students use 'wellness room' and we would like to establish a reading nook within the room to help our students.

My Project

Due to the impact of coronavirus, the last year and a half has not been easy on our students. We have seen an increase in social and emotional issues amongst our students. We have established a wellness room in our school where students can come and breathe, recharge and cool down before returning to the classroom.

Establishing a reading nook in our wellness room will give our students an area to calm down, read, relax and be ready to return to their classroom to learn.

The social and emotional learning of our students is very important and I am confident that expanding our wellness room with a reading nook will greatly benefit our students.
