This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My first grade students are hard workers! They enjoy going to school and learning. However, there are times during the school day that my first graders need a space to regulate their emotions.

Having tools like the puzzle mat to spend time building a puzzle if they choose to, hugging the weighted bear, or using the light table to explore will ensure that they have time to regulate their feelings.

The light table will also be used for our upcoming science unit about light. Since they love science, I know they will be excited to have the light table for exploration.
