Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box!
They are curious, creative and enthusiastic learners.
They come to school each day ready to learn with the most beautiful smiles, regardless of any challenges. They are my inspiration and I learn so much from them daily. I strive to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment in which we all support each others differences.
My Project
Technology in our classroom is an important resource to expand our learning and peek our interests. Currently my first graders are using reading and math programs offered by our district, but they are struggling with staying focused and engaged. Our headphones are no longer working, which is causing a noisy and frustrating learning environment for my students. With the use of reliable headphones, my students will have the opportunity to continue to grow and deepen their education. They will not only use the headphones as part of their daily routines during math and reading stations, but they will also have reliable headphones for our district assessments administered on a computer. We will no longer have to pause an assessment to find another set of working headphones!
With the use of new headphones, my first graders will participate meaningfully in various activities which will help increase their academic achievement.
The headphones will be assigned yearly, therefore many future students will benefit from this resource. The ability to stay focused and engaged will be a immense advantage to continue to grow to their highest potential. This will create a classroom where students feel loved, valued and comfortable.
