Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My kindergarten students are eager and enthusiastic learners who come into my classroom each and every day ready to learn, explore, and investigate.

They are highly motivated and beam with pride as they explore, learn, and investigate.

They love participating in active and engaging lessons, activities, centers, and projects. They are avid book lovers who love to explore and read. Many of my students do not have a home library so they rely on our classroom and school library for books to read.

My Project

The book pouches I am requesting for my students already have a home. We read books in our class daily as students select books from the classroom library during literacy center time and throughout the school day.

The reading pouches will allow the teacher and students to select books based on their reading level and place them inside the book pouch for easy storage and accessibility during literacy opportunities

Students who use the books in the pouches will find reading fun and enjoyable as they explore and learn. Students begin to choose books that they can read based on their interest both fiction and non-fiction.
