My Project

Each year, my classroom is transformed into a camp to end the school year. The students take part in camp-themed activities, like writing letters to families, reading by lantern light, and camp crafts to commemorate their time spent in second grade.

Students will create lasting memories while carrying their water bottles on hikes around our outdoor learning trail and examining nature up close with their magnifying glasses and binoculars.

At this age, students learn more by actively engaging in hands-on learning opportunities. Turning our classroom into a camp allows their imaginations to soar while visiting the various camp centers and activities around the room, as well as outside the school.

My goal is to make learning fun through the end of the school year. I want to send students into their summer break with some supplies to get them outside, have them enjoy the natural beauty of the world around them, and learn through active play opportunities!
