My Students
My students attend a K3 through eighth grade school. It's a very culturally diverse school in the inner city of Milwaukee, WI. Our school has roughly 500 students.
Each child comes to school eager and ready to be challenged and learn on a regular basis.
Unfortunately, due to budgeting, we have lost funds, and it has taken a toll on our classroom materials and resources. Regardless of the money, the students themselves are worth every cent and all of our efforts!
My Project
Our classroom is in need of a habitat for our chickens. Every spring in our classroom we hatch eggs in a classroom incubator. I usually keep the baby chickens in my class sensory table, but every year we run into the same problem. After about a week the baby chickens grow so fast that they are bumping their heads on the top of the table. We are asking for the cage to place the baby chickens along with other supplies needed to keep them happy. Our students will need chick feed for the chicks, and heat lamps used to keep them warm until they are old enough to take back to the farm.
