Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am requesting basic supplies that we use everyday in first grade. The permanent markers are used to draw pictures that we color. The permanent markers help students to color in the lines and they create amazing art with these markers!
First graders must grip the pencils correctly to form their letters and words.
I have found that the thicker pencils help students grip the pencils correctly. Also, they last much longer than regular pencils. They require a special pencil sharpener that I have in my classroom. I am also requesting number 2 pencils. Each week I give my students 6 pencils. When they break the point on one pencil, students get another pencil stored in their pencil pouch. This eliminates wasted instructional time sharpening pencils. I give students the mini stickers in their homework folders if their homework is turned in and complete.
I am requesting new paint brushes to replace our old set. Finally, I am requesting the magnetic colorful charts to store student's lunch cards.
