This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Many of the students in my classroom have experienced trauma in their lives, and school is their safe place. They come to school to escape what is happening at home. My classroom serves students with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder, and specific learning disabilities.

The typical student in my class struggles with basic phonemic awareness and letter recognition.

About 90% of my students are African American or Latino. The opportunity and achievement gaps are apparent among our student population.

My Project

I am requesting basic materials for my kindergarten classroom. I am asking for specific essential needs for all of the kindergarten classes at my school. We are asking for paper, both copy paper and construction paper to be used on a daily basis. I am also asking for lamination pouches to be used for all the various needs of the kindergarten literacy centers. And lastly, I am asking for Clorox wipes and lysol spray. The classrooms need some extra help staying germ free and we are hoping with your donations, we can keep the students healthy. Thank you for considering donating to our kindergarten classrooms.
