This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Mini golf in the classroom... who would have thought? Well, me, apparently. This project is for 16 adjustable mini golf putters so we have good clubs for our students to use in our cardboard mini golf project. These putters are adjustable in length, so all of our students will have clubs of an appropriate size.

Making cardboard mini golf holes in class was an amazing experience.

Students had to go beyond a simple hole, and make one with a moving element. That is where the coding came in for our computer science class. Having to design, and code a moving part was great. Students came up with windmills and drawbridges, and by using code, they could control the motion and make it more random in motion, and therefore make the hole more challenging.

Our problem was the durability of our 3D printed golf clubs. After use, they just did not hold up as well as hoped though we are working on that part, too. Adjusting the club length for different students proved to be a problem. These golf clubs fix that immediate problem, and will allow our students to test and play their creations.
