My Project

I have requested a few math and reading games that students can use in small groups or independently to practice and reinforce what is being taught in class. Research says that it takes over 400 times for the brain to learn something, but using games only takes 10-15 times! This is amazing to me! The games requested will give my class the resources to practice many basic skills independently. Additionally, I have a few students who are in need of some lower level, very basic manipulatives to help them gain a concrete knowledge base in areas such as sorting and creating/extending patterns. These games and manipulatives will allow my students independent practice time during small groups and/or interventions. I have also requested a chart stand to hold the many charts and visuals we use in class during small and whole-group instruction. My students need much practice during our scheduled intervention times to become more fluent in the foundations of learning and all of these resources will help in this area.
