Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are curious and always ready to learn. Having books available for them to read about their own history is crucial.

Having Juneteenth library books would be an excellent way for all our students to learn how important this particular day is in American History.

Most of our books are outdated and our collection does not even have one book about Juneteenth.

As the librarian I am hoping to expand our Juneteenth Celebration this year to make it school wide. Over half of our students identify as black so this is particularly important.
