This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Children with special needs may need more or less body movement depending on the individual students' needs. Sensory activities help students regulate and also provide opportunities for building communication and social skills. The trampoline and the ball pool will be a part of the sensory room.

The trampoline and the ball pool will help my students with special needs with sensory regulation.

Trampoline can help control body movement. Ball pool can help provide deep pressure and a sense of calm. Once the children have better control of their body, they are more prepared and can focus better on their academic skills.

Outdoor play and movement become especially challenging during very cold winters days, rainy days, and other times when children cannot go out to play. Children who live in apartments may not have the opportunity to play outside. The trampoline and the ball pool will help them expend some of the pent up energy.
