The children I teach this year are wonderful. They work hard and seldom complain about the lack of materials available for them to use inside and outside of the classroom. The children are very much in need of your support.
This year there are no fun things like balls and jump ropes for the kids to use once they are outdoors after lunch.
This fact creates a great deal of strife as the children will sometimes bully each other when they are bored and frustrated. My students truly need to have supplies available to them, supplies that are useful and practical. Their day runs so much more smoothly when they can quickly access the basic supplies they may need to have a successful day. Fun toys to like jump ropes really motivate them to work hard in the morning. They can be rewarded with a rope or ball to take outside to play with and they love this practice. When the children have things to play with outdoors they are more kind and constructive outdoors. The amount of bullying and fighting goes down among the children who have materials to play with outdoors after lunch. The children would love to receive some new things to use outdoors. They would be very proud and happy to receive materials.
I am asking for jump ropes of all kinds. Double dutch which the girls and some of the boys love and balls. The boys tend to love the balls more than the ropes and I sometimes will lend children a ball to take home on the weekend if their home work was done properly. Many years ago a kind supporter at donors choose sent us some balls and ropes, however the little we are left with are worn out. I hope there is someone out there who would be willing to help these most amazing and wonderful children. It's Friday night and I am exhausted from work but I am excited to know there is a potential for my students to get materials to enhance their school experience. I think I work with the greatest children in the world and I am so thankful that there are so many people out there who believe it is important to support children in need. The boys and girls will squeal with delight at the prospect of receiving a box of colorful ropes and balls. Joy would prevail and their eyes will shine.
When the children have constructive games to play outdoors they have a wonderful recess.
They return to class laughing and talking and eager for tomorrow to play again. They settle down and they do their lessons, pleased about how their day is going. Our school budget does not support the children with materials for outdoors and sometimes the girls bring a piece of old telephone cord to do their double dutch jumping with. When it hits them it hurts their skin greatly.
