Jump For Joy!!

My students need a class set of jumping activities, such as individual jump ropes, group jump ropes, hula hoops, and cones for boundaries.

Imagine 6 and 7 year old's jumping rope with giant smiles spanning from ear to ear...all the while learning being healthy is fun! I teach first grade students from a highly military population.

Our students mostly have one parent in active duty in the military and another parent at home raising the babies. The parents often don't have time or energy to go out and play fitness activities with their kids. So our kids are not getting the exercise they need at home, nor are they learning fitness activities they can do by themselves and that are FUN! I believe that if the kids learned how much fun jumping rope and playing hula hoops can be at school then they might transfer that enthusiasm at home and start exercising at home instead of playing video games all night!

As the Health and PE teacher for our first grade class rotation I could utilize a class set of jump ropes and hula hoops to reach 60 first grade students in the JOYS OF JUMPING! With these materials students will learn how cardiovascular health can be as easy and fun as jumping rope, jumping through hula hoop courses, and most of all great ways to stay healthy for life!
